On this LA Sounds show I’ll be playing mostly gospel music (with music by the Blind Boys of Alabama, the Staple Singers, the Chuck Wagon Gang, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Keb’ Mo’, Lightin’ Hopkins, Marley’s Ghost, Al Green, Tina Turner and Sam Cooke) for David Hanley, one of the best friends anyone could ever ask for, who I was lucky enough to know and be friends with for more than 40 years. David passed away last week and I want and I need to honor what he not only meant to me and taught me but also what he meant to other people who were lucky enough to know David.
