American Pastimes features music of the late bluegrass fiddler Byron Berline performing with the Rolling Stones, the Band, and with Mark O'Connor & Bill Monroe, as well as on his own. There's also a healthy dose of the Skillet Lickers (c. 1930) and a set of very early Doc Watson performances (c. 1960). In between there's lots of contemporary 21st century string musicians and string bands.
