RIP Pegi Young - You Will Be Missed

KZFR notes with sadness the passing of Peggy Young. She was co-founder of the Bridge Benefits and headed a great band, Pegi Young and the Survivors. Peggy was a wonderful person who cared about our community. She will be missed.

"Pegi and her band played a show for us at the Women's Club a while back and we will never forget her kindness and love. I remember she wanted a cup of "Throat Coat" tea and we were looking for a teapot for 10 minutes, I finally said "there's a microwave here we can use that." She reminded me " microwaves don't have soul Rick." I agreed, and we suddenly found the teapot underneath something. Just in time. She was cool; Godspeed Pegi." ~ Rick Anderson, KZFR General Manager

We'd be honored if you would vote for us. You'll find us in the Community section of the ballet, of course! There's no Community Radio without You!
To celebrate 35 years of independent community radio, "Mic Check: An Oral History of KZFR" takes listeners behind the scenes of KZFR 90.1 FM’s earliest days.
Youth members of the Boys & Girls Club of the North Valley recently toured the station. Our GM gave them a behind the scenes look at an independent, nonprofit community radio station. Your group could too!
