This broadcast features contemporary guitar pickin' by Tony & Wyatt Rice, mandolin pickin' by David Grisman and fiddlin' by Byron Berline. There's a set o' songs by three of the most commericially popular of the sixties folk performers, Tim Hardin, Judy Collins, and Tim Buckley, followed by a set of tunes by the most eccentric of Greenwich Village folkies - The Holy Modal Rounders. The second hour features old country blues and dance tunes from the 20's & 30's - some of the more obscure southern musicians whose recordings have thankfully ended up in the Smithsonian catalogue. And toward the end we've got tunes by David Bromberg and Chris Smither, and then back to contemporary pickin' and strummin'.
