The City of Chico is moving forward with plans for the Downtown Chico Revitalization Project, an effort aimed at improving safety and accessibility in the downtown area.
The project focuses primarily on the Main Street and Broadway corridors between 1st Street and Humboldt Road. Proposed improvements include upgraded sidewalks and pedestrian crossings, bicycle infrastructure, streetscape enhancements, and better organization of loading zones and trash storage areas for downtown businesses.
City officials say the goal of the project is to make downtown Chico safer and easier to navigate for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers while supporting local businesses and maintaining access to the area.
